Emma Hearnes

Assistant editor of Gippslandia, Emma pens stories in each edition, whips everyone's words into shape and makes, perhaps, too many spreadsheets.

When Emma was nearing the end of her Associate Degree of Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT and got to choose where to complete a placement, she rushed to contact Gippslandia's editor, Tim Leeson. Fuelled by a deep love for the region – having grown up in beautiful East Gippsland – and a passion for writing, editing and visual art, Emma dove so deeply into Gippslandia that they couldn't quite get rid of her.

Now, several editions in, Emma still can't think of anything she'd rather be doing with her days than sharing the stories of remarkable Gippslandians and collaborating with the region's most talented creatives.

You can find out more about Emma and the other work she does at emmahearnes.com.
