SupportWith squad names like Grazed Anatomy and Wipe-out, it is clear that Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby players mean business. A cacophony of collisions – bodies slamming and skates scraping – roller derby exemplifies the true meaning of a contact sport. Louder than all of that though is the cheering, laughter and atmosphere of support at every training session and event.

Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby is a not-for-profit, mixed gender roller derby club with training venues across South and Central Gippsland. The club offers everything from fun, social skating programs for beginners, to competitive roller derby league training – with one of their own, Eden Robert-son a.k.a. Storm, selected to play for Team Australia Juniors in France this year. See, they’re open to crunching anyone, and they do so with gleeful passion.

With over 10 years since the club was formed, originally as Latrobe City Roller Derby, it has grown to be a strong community of “dedicated skaters, dynamic trainers and passionate members from all walks of life [and] all reaches of the Gippsland Ranges”.
